Alberta Health Services (AHS) has a significant need for experienced nursing professionals to support the COVID-19 response. If you are a recently retired RN or RPN, you can help us provide critical services throughout the pandemic.

Whether your license is active or expired, AHS can support you to ensure your years of experience can be utilized in our COVID-19 response. Retired RNs and RPNs may provide support on contact tracing teams, in continuing care facilities, as part of public health and in other areas of demand. Read more below about our in-demand positions:

Contact Tracing positions follow-up on confirmed, probable and suspect cases of COVID-19 and their contacts. You will use clinical software to conduct investigations, provide health information, and perform data entry while talking to patients. You must be comfortable with telephone triage and assessment, and be able to work at a computer for the entirety of your shifts.

Public Health positions will take place in the community and support COVID-19 response activities which may include community swabbing and immunization. You may be deployed to various healthcare facilities, assessment centres, worksites, and other areas within the zone, including potential home visits.

Continuing Care positions include home care, supportive living, long-term care, hospice and end-of-life care. You will ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time. We need compassionate people who are accountable and responsible, who treat patients with dignity and respect.
