Hany Abdelhady Biography


Hany Abdelhady is a practicing pharmacist with over 15 years of experience in pharmacy education and biomedical research. Hany received his B.Sc. Pharmacy degree in Egypt and his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at Dalhousie University in 2014. Hany has been serving the Canadian public with his professional expertise in both community and specialty settings since 2012. In addition to pharmacy practice, Hany has also served as a pharmacy teaching instructor at Dalhousie University, an assessor for the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC), an assessor for the continuing competence profile (CCP) program at the Alberta College of Pharmacists, and as a pharmacy preceptor at the University of Alberta.

 While giving back to his profession, Hany also supported the activities of the International Centre at Dalhousie University and served on the council of the Dalhousie International Student Association (DISA). Hany is also an active member in the Egyptian community in Alberta, an avid traveller, and a big tennis fan. Hany is so thrilled to serve as a public member on the Council of the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA) and help make sure that the health interests of Albertans are well served and protected.
 

Munira Peermohamed


Munira Peermohamed has over 30 years of experience as an Environmental Public Health Professional. She received her Diploma in Environmental Health Technology from British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1985, allowing her to complete her certification from the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors. Additionally, Munira is a Certified Professional of Food Safety (NEHA), a Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (FDA) and holds a CDC Certificate in Epidemiology.

Munira has worked with the local health authorities for over 22 years as: food specialist/educator; adult/childcare consultant; recreational, housing and personal services specialist; and as an outbreak coordinator. During her employment with the local health authorities, Munira worked with the provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons on infection prevention & control, and equipment reprocessing complaints. Throughout her employment with the local health authorities, Munira was involved in the decision-making local/provincial regulatory committees and projects.
 
Munira’s experiences also include third party audits of a major international hospital; large educational institution; adult care facilities; medical clinics/dental; and major oil and gas company workcamps.
In her voluntary projects, Munira has worked extensively on public health projects for mass gatherings, emergency response, infection prevention and control, H1N1 awareness materials, and seniors’ health.
Munira is driven to ensure that public health environments meet or exceed all health and safety requirements. She possesses the training, certification, and experience to deliver public health safeguards. And, Munira has extensive history of involvement in various health and safety programs as professional and volunteer service provider. 

Joseph Zelmer


Joseph Zelmer received his Alberta High School Diploma in 1998. Shortly afterwards he started working on a variety of fire, emergency medical services and humanity courses and programs. He graduated with honours from the Emergency Medical Technologist – Paramedic program from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He continued his formal education completing an Advance Certificate in Forensic Studies from Mount Royal University. As someone who believes in life long Joseph in currently enrolled at Athabasca University Bachelor of Management program. Joseph has taken a variety of courses related to his on-going committee service.  
 
Joseph has participated in numerous boards and committees. He has sat on the Conduct and Competency Committee as a member and inter vice-chair and as a Hearing tribunal member and chair doing the maximum term allowance with the Alberta College of Paramedics. He has also has been a member of Occupational Health and Safety committees for several different organizations.

Joseph lives in Calgary and enjoys visiting the near by mountains.
