CRPNA Fee Increase for 2010 - 2012
First increase since 2005
The Health Professions Act gives CRPNA the responsibility for carrying out psychiatric nursing regulation to protect the public interest. The administration and processes required to support College governance, psychiatric nursing regulation, professional practice requirements, member liability insurance and corporate services in Alberta are achieved though member fees.
At its March 21, 2009 and June 06, 2009 meetings the Provincial Council reviewed this difficult issue by way of a thorough examination and thoughtful deliberations in coming to the difficult but necessary decision to increase annual registration fees through incremental increases over the next three years.

PRACTICE PERMIT EXPIRY DATE EXTENSION
We continue to strive to make the renewal period as smooth as possible for our members. In keeping with these efforts the registration renewal deadline will remain the same April 30th , each year for members to submit their forms and fees. The College has approved an extension of the license permit to May 31st of each year providing members who have not renewed by the deadline with the opportunity to rectify their late renewal prior to their license/practice permit being suspended. After April 30th , members will receive a Late Renewal Notification indicating you're in default of the deadline and are required to submit the appropriate renewal/continuing competency information, registration fee and a late fee.
For those few members who might miss this deadline (May 31st) you will receive formal notification of suspension and the same process will occur as it happens now and after 30 days your license will be cancelled and your file closed.
